Eindhoven punk city! The legendary Scottish beton punk band The Exploited is one of those rare acts beloved by fans of hardcore, punk, metal and psychobilly alike (right up there with Slayer and Motörhead).
So it’s only fitting that these furious wrecking balls, led by frontman Wattie Buchan, are set to put the roof of Eindhoven’s Klokgebouw to the test.
Formed in 1979 in the grim underbelly of Edinburgh, The Exploited detonated onto the scene in 1981 with their debut album Punks Not Dead. That title quickly became a battle cry for an entire generation — and more than 45 years later, the band still proves night after night that the message is very much alive. The Exploited grew into the ultimate working-class band: uncompromising, loud, and never afraid to call out hypocrisy, war and social injustice head-on. With classics like Troops of Tomorrow (1982), Let's Start a War (1983) and Horror Epics (1985), the Scots built a worldwide cult following while stirring more than a fair share of controversy along the way. While many bands chose the safe road of commercial compromise, The Exploited stubbornly stuck to their own path. Later records like Death Before Dishonour (1987) and The Massacre (1990) pushed their sound into heavier, more aggressive territory, and the uncompromising Fuck the System (2003) proved their rage was far from burnt out.
The Exploited’s influence stretches far beyond punk. Their raw energy and aggression helped lay the foundations for hardcore, thrash and metal, inspiring generations of bands that followed. Live, they remain a pure test of force — an unrelenting wall of sound that hits you straight in the chest. Hard, loud, furious and without compromise: this is punk rock in its purest form.
